‘English Vinglish’ to release in China, movies

: One of Sridevi’s last films ‘English Vinglish’ will release in China on 24th, her fifth death anniversary. The movie hit the theaters in 2012, which was taken over by fans. Eros International, the distributor, said it will be screened on 6,000 screens in China.

This family film directed by Gauri Shinde was Sridevi’s return to the silver screen after 15 years. It was India’s official entry for the 2012 Oscars.

Chitra tells the story of a quiet housewife named Shashi Godbole. The plot revolves around Sasi’s efforts to learn English and learns to handle the language with ease. Indian films are well received in China, which has the second largest film industry in the world.
