Southampton players celebrate (Reuters)

In a rematch from the 18th round of the Premier League, Southampton recorded an impressive 1-4 win over Brentford tonight (Tuesday) and passed it in the English league table. The saints were excellent throughout the struggle and achieved a great and important victory.

The first to score in the match was Jan Bednark, who in the fifth minute put the host in the lead, but in the 23rd minute it was Vitaly Yanlet who brought the newcomer back into the game and set up a 1-1 draw after Brian Boomo cooked. In the 37th minute an own goal by Albero Fernandez gave the host an advantage once again and from there she just kept celebrating. Four minutes after the start of the second half, Armando in her spirit raised Southampton to 1: 3 after a great outburst and Che Adams, five minutes after coming on as a substitute, sealed the game as he scored his team’s fourth goal in the 70th minute.

Thanks to the huge victory, Southampton rose to 11th place in the table, with 24 points after 20 games. Brentford looked bad and were left with 23 points in the table, finishing in 13th place.
