Enrique Garcés Hospital and Type C Guamaní Health Center consolidate their health services – Ministry of Public Health

The Vice Minister of Comprehensive Health Care, Carmen Guerrero, made a technical visit to the Enrique Garcés General Hospital and the Type C Guamaní Health Center, with the aim of supervising and strengthening health services in these important establishments in the south of Quito.

At the Enrique Garcés Hospital, progress was made in terms of medical care and the implementation of public health policies for the benefit of patients, as well as initiatives to improve emergency care flows, differentiated areas for people with disabilities, geriatrics, and women in pregnancy status.

When going to the First Reception Room, a space in which people who have suffered some type of violence are cared for, he verified compliance with protocols that allow quality of care.

He continued his visit at the Diabetic Foot Clinic, inside this health home, and highlighted the importance of teamwork to provide comprehensive, personalized and timely care to patients suffering from this pathology.

Teresa G., an 83-year-old patient with a diagnosis of cellulite in the lower right limb and arterial hypertension, commented, “I have been hospitalized for two days, they have treated me very well, the nurses help me with my disease, they are very good. The food is delicious. God pay them.”

Vice Minister Guerrero finished the visit to the Hospital in the units of internal medicine, laboratory, x-rays, tomography, pharmacy, operating room, external consultation and hospitalization. She verified the strengthening of the hospital infrastructure, such as the provision of preventive and systemic medical services to users.

In addition, the vice minister went to the Type C Guamaní Health Center in southern Quito. She went to the emergency area, obstetric center, rehabilitation, x-rays, laboratory, pharmacy, and outpatient consultation. She listened carefully to the experiences and needs of health personnel and users.

Carmen Guerrero, expressed satisfaction with the evident advances in the establishments visited, recognizing the great work carried out by all the medical and administrative personnel. She ratified the commitment of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) to expand the support and strengthening of health entities, guaranteeing access to comprehensive and timely medical care.
