Entertainment x Technology, Challenges and Growth Illustrated by Young Engineers LDH Fan Service “CL” |

-Please tell us about your career since you joined the company.

From the time I ⁣was ⁤offered a part-time⁣ job until today, I have worked ‍steadily ⁣as a front-end ⁢web engineer, and after gaining experience at ABEMA and Ameba, I am‍ currently working on⁢ CL.⁣ Specifically, for CL, we are developing a user ‍screen that allows users‍ to watch videos, as⁢ well as ‍the management side that allows them to enter data. I also became a trainer for interns within ⁣3 months of joining the company.

-Why did you join CyberAgent and apply for the CL⁢ division?

This is because‍ we operate a⁤ service on a large scale and I think there is an environment where young people ⁢can thrive.

At first, I didn’t attend university, but I got interested‌ in engineering through video editing, and I studied on my own. Later, while working as a freelancer, I learned about the CyberAgent Re:Career recruitment system, which allows ⁢new graduates to join the ‌company.
After that, I decided to ⁣join the company because I wanted to grow in an environment where‌ I could‍ play an active role because ‌the company operates sites like “ABEMA” and ⁢”Ameba” and there are many opportunities for people to promote young people.

Regarding the task, I was thinking of trying different things, and I sympathized with the enthusiasm of the employees ‍in‌ the CL ⁤division, who said that they were working on development with a small ⁤number of elite people.

-It has been half a year‍ since I ‍joined the company. ‍Do you feel up to the challenge?

I⁣ feel it very much. The biggest challenge was deciding to introduce a web development toolchain called “Biome” and solve ⁤the problems “CL” was having ⁢at the⁤ time. At that time, besides the⁣ slow execution of the Formatter/Linter and the lack of‌ maintenance of the Linter, nobody ‌was doing anything about it ⁣even though we were somewhat aware of the issue.
Focusing on this, we defined the ideal situation for implementation as ⁣1) fast operation, 2) no change in the development experience for engineers before and after implementation, and 3) maintenance cost phenomenon, ‍and decided that ⁤all these could ⁣be achieved by introducing. “Biome”.

This initiative was also announced at the 2024 CyberAgent ⁣Developer Conference (CADC), a technical conference for engineers and creators. Presenting at this conference was one of my goals when I joined⁢ the company, so I ⁤was happy that it came true.

How can someone transition from⁤ a non-technical background to a role in engineering?

Interview between Time.news Editor and CyberAgent Expert

Expert: Thank you for having me! I started ‌my ‍career at CyberAgent with a part-time job, and I’ve continually grown‍ into my current role as a front-end ⁢web engineer. ‍Initially, I gained valuable experience⁤ at ⁢ABEMA and Ameba, and ⁤now I’m‌ focusing on the CL division. ‍My role involves developing user screens⁣ for ⁤video consumption as well ⁢as managing the backend for data entry. Connect ‌with‍ people in the industry, seek feedback, and don’t be afraid to⁤ take risks. Most importantly, enjoy the⁢ process—every project is an opportunity to learn ⁤and ⁣grow.
