Clothing companies from the southwest and north of the department will be at Colombiamoda for the first time, thanks to the support of Comfenalco Antioquia.

Entrepreneurs who make shirts with regional identity in the municipality of Andes and personalized artisanal bags from Yarumal, participate, for the first time, in Colombiamoda 2024, which will run until July 25, thanks to the support of the Comfenalco Antioquia Family Compensation Fund.

These are Taya Confecciones and Corazones de Miluu, two businesses from the southwest and north of the department, respectively, which, although they stand out in their regions for the quality of their products and designs, did not have plans to be part of the most important fashion fair in the country.

Edgar Taborda Yara, co-founder of Taya Confecciones, says that the first time he attended Fashion Week in Medellín, he never imagined that the family business that he, his mother, sister and nephew had built with great effort, would have access to a showcase of relationships, knowledge and business like Colombiamoda.

Taya Confecciones, according to Edgar, is a brand that seeks to generate a town identity through the production of shirts made with fresh materials and sublimation prints, rescuing with symbols and illustrations what characterizes the municipalities of the Southwest.

“The coffee crop prints, the distinctive features of the bus ladders, the bees, the rock cock, are a way of showing what we are,”

states.

During the three days of programming, these two ventures will have a stand in the Fashion Market section of the Grand Hall of Plaza Mayor, where they hope to not only showcase their products, but also expand their network of contacts and access the entire academic agenda of the fair.

Carolina Franco Giraldo, manager of Social and Intellectual Welfare at Comfenalco Antioquia, explains that, in its commitment to continue bringing people and companies opportunities, strategies and significant experiences, the fund is linked to Colombiamoda, an event of great impact for the city and which is a favorable scenario for entrepreneurs and micro-entrepreneurs of services related to the clothing and fashion ecosystem, to learn and enhance their development.

added the manager.

Attendees at Fashion Week will also be able to learn about the Pavilion of Knowledgein the lobby of the Metropolitan Theater of Medellín, the experience of the Diploma in Illustration, Art, Craft and Profession of Comfenalco Antioquia and Casa Tragaluz, a training that the Caja offers to illustrators, creatives, designers and artists and that has great potential for application in the fashion and textile industry.

There will also be the experience of the Marinilla Employment Laboratory, which specialises in supporting the selection processes of companies in the textile and creative sectors, through innovative tools and the application of tests that facilitate the identification of skills, saving time and costs when recruiting talent.

Finally, visitors will be able to discover the offer of Ocelote, a brand of Viajes Comfenalco Antioquia, which designs and offers tourist routes in collaboration with communities in the department under a sustainable, conscious and experiential approach. There will also be the Cultural Showcase, a space where visitors can find products such as notebooks, backpacks, diaries, tote bags and other accessories inspired by famous characters and stories from literature, whose profits are reinvested in programs to encourage and promote reading by the compensation fund.
