“Why is it so stuffy? The center is nice, spacious, but the ventilation is not coping. This problem needs to be solved. I am instructing the city akim to develop a design and estimate documentation for the air conditioning system, and we will allocate funds,” said Yermaganbet Bulekpayev.
The head of the region noted the well-groomed and clean streets of Priozersk. The city is developing, infrastructure and social facilities are being repaired. Next year, construction of a new school is planned, another kindergarten will be built. Priozersk has great tourism potential. Engineering communications are being laid, private investments are being attracted.
A city resident complained about the lack of Internet and signs pointing to Priozersk on the Almaty-Yekaterinburg highway. The road is currently being repaired. The head of the Karaganda branch of NK Kazavtozhol, Erlan Zhumagulov, explained that the signs will appear by the end of the year after the asphalt is laid. The regional akim was not satisfied with the answer and ordered temporary signs to be installed now.
Priozersk residents are concerned about the protracted pothole repair of inner-city roads. The city’s mayor, Mansur Akhmetov, explained this by a problem with contractors. The contract with the first contractor was terminated, and another contractor began the repair. Of the 1,200 square meters of roads planned for pothole repair, 750 square meters have already been completed. The work continues. The authorities are monitoring the quality.
The issue of a shortage of medical workers was raised. Priozersk residents asked to pay a relocation allowance to specialists who come to their city. The head of the health department, Bibigul Tulegenova, said that the issue has already been brought up at a meeting of the maslikhat commission. It will be resolved, and doctors will be able to receive a relocation allowance. Depending on their qualifications, they are paid from 1.5 to 8.5 million tenge. The head of the region instructed the akim of Priozersk to provide doctors with housing. A major overhaul of a hospital is underway in Balkhash, which will become a regional hospital. It will be equipped with the most modern equipment. Priozersk residents will also be able to apply here.
Residents are dissatisfied with the operation of intracity buses. Ermaganbet Bulekpayev instructed the Department of Passenger Transport and Highways to help the local akimat resolve this issue. The city can lease buses, but the fare may have to be raised, the regional akim warned Priozersk residents. Currently, the fare is 50 tenge, which does not cover all the carrier’s costs.
The townspeople asked to develop not only tourism, but also production. According to them, it is possible to open a fish business, build greenhouses to provide the residents of Priozersk with fresh vegetables and fruits.
“This is a correct and very relevant observation. Why do investors not want to invest money in production? We have held meetings with entrepreneurs more than once, there are opportunities to take out a preferential loan. So far, businessmen are not very active. I am waiting for specific proposals on this issue. I will personally keep an eye on it,” said Yermaganbet Bulekpayev.
After the meeting with the population, the regional akim held a reception for citizens on personal matters.
