The next Entrepreneurship Week will be held in Narva from October 2 to 7. This year it will be less intense, but, the organizers promise, the events will be large and of high quality. At the same time, they are designed to ensure that entrepreneurs receive answers to their burning questions “here and now.”

Such intensive courses for representatives of the real sector have been held throughout Estonia since 2006. Meetings, trainings, and conferences are held in every county these days.

This year the motto of Entrepreneurship Week is “Time to change course. Change yourself, change the world.” This agenda was dictated by many cardinal events, including war, explains Anton Pratkunas, business consultant at the Ida-Viru County Entrepreneurship Center (IVEK), the main organizer of the events. “Therefore, the main emphasis will be on some changes – changes in business, in the work of the team,” he says.

Pratkunas notes that the Entrepreneurship Week itself has undergone some changes: instead of the previous 30-40 events, this time there are only 12 in the program.

“We always tried to make the week very busy. But we received feedback that there are a lot of good events, but people don’t have time to participate in them. All this year’s events are large and high-quality. There will be one or two events every day,” he explains.

Without leaving Narva
The week starts on Monday, October 2nd. It will open with a seminar on various support measures for entrepreneurs, which will take place at the OBJEKT creative incubator.

“We often hear that we do not feel the presence of funds, EAS. For the second time, we managed to attract representatives of EAS, KredЕX, and the entrepreneurship department of the Unemployment Insurance Fund to participate in such meetings. And so they come to us, tell us about their benefits, support measures, and so on,” says Anton Pratkunas.

On Wednesday, October 4, a conference organized by the Department of Development and Economics of Narva will be held as part of the week. Its location is Narva College of Technical University. The conference will last the whole day, from 9.30 to 18 hours.

Victoria Kayu, chief specialist of the Department of Development and Economics, reports that the central theme of the conference will be a Just Transition.

“Yes, a lot is said today on this topic, but our efforts will be focused on ensuring that as many Narva entrepreneurs as possible learn about the possibilities of financial support from the Just Transition Fund – our hall will accommodate 200 people,” says Victoria Kayu. “Participants of the meeting will be given the latest information and answers to questions from specialists and responsible persons involved in this process. Already at the conference itself, it will be possible to sign up for a preliminary consultation on obtaining funding from support measures and, accordingly, receive it.”

On the big screen and in the shopping center
On September 5 and 6, for the first time in our region, a large-scale business conference will be shown on the big screen, which will take place in Tallinn.

– The conference is paid, but we received a license to organize viewing. It will be held at the Narva College of the Technical University in room 200: anyone can come there and watch the conference for free at any time, says Anton Pratkunas.

IVEK marketing specialist Alexandra Leschuk draws the attention of potential participants to the training that will take place at the Virumaa College of TTU entitled “Green enterprise development – what, why, how?” Visiting specialists and experts will share practical experience there.
In a similar vein – with a practical focus – there will be a training session on digital promotion, which Alexandra will conduct together with entrepreneurs. It will cover the topic “Event Promotion and Cooperation”. The conversation will focus on how Ida-Viru County organizations can promote events and support each other.

Current news of the week are events whose topic will be artificial intelligence and its implementation in industrial production. On October 3, a training course on future technologies will be held at the Narva College of the Technical University.

Alexandra advises you to pay attention to one more item on the program: on Saturday, October 7, an eco-fair from the Narva Club of Business and Enterprising Women EENA will take place in the Astri shopping center.

All information on regional events of Entrepreneurship Week can be found on the IVEK website.
