In a statement, Adani Green Energy said that its board has approved agreements for an additional investment of $ 444 million from TotalEnergies to form a joint venture with the company. The statement said that the joint venture company will have a portfolio of 1150 MW. This will include operational and under-construction solar assets. Apart from these, merchant-based and power purchase agreement-based projects will also be included.

TotalEnergies, through its affiliates, has acquired a stake of about 19.75% in Adani Green. Let us tell you that in September last year, Adani Green and TotalEnergies agreed to form a joint venture for a green portfolio of 1050 MW. TotalEnergies was to invest $ 300 million in this deal. Under the new deal, Adani Green Energy and TotalEnergies will each hold 50 per cent stake in the new joint venture company.

Adani preparing to buy three companies

Adani is also preparing to buy three new companies at this time. According to media reports, Adani Group has created a war chest of one billion dollars i.e. about Rs 8,388 crore to expand its food and FMCG business. The group’s FMCG company Adani Wilmar is preparing to buy at least three companies in the southern and eastern regions of the country. These include ready-to-cook foods and packaged edible brands.

Decline in shares

After this decision of the company, the shares of Adani Green Energy saw a decline on Tuesday. On Monday, the shares of Adani Green Energy closed at Rs 1935. On Tuesday, it opened with a rise at Rs 1947. But after this, it declined. Within half an hour of the market opening, it fell by about one and a half percent and reached around Rs 1917.
