Opponents of the A154 motorway project, which should connect Dreux (Eure-et-Loir) to Orléans (Loiret) by 2030, were nevertheless well mobilized. On October 7, 200 of them invited passers-by at Place des Épars, in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), to cross a symbolic and improvised toll barrier in exchange for a 6-euro ticket. The operation, as good-natured as it was militant, unfortunately did not succeed in getting people talking about it beyond a single article in the local daily. What is missing from the A154, and its 90 km of bitumen, to make the headlines, as is the case for the A69 project, a motorway of “only” 53 km which raises debates and controversies at the national level for several months?
