Due to the poor air quality recorded in recent hours, the Jalisco Atmospheric Monitoring System activated Phase I of the Environmental Contingency. The organization reported the start of these measures starting at 11:00 a.m. in this state of the republic.
According to the information, at the monitoring station located in the Las Pintas area, a 155-point concentration of PM10 suspended particles. It is estimated that this concentration is due to the detonation of fireworks on the occasion of Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Due to this, the Jalisco Atmospheric Monitoring System issued the following recommendations for vulnerable groups, as well as for the general population during this environmental contingency:
- Avoid doing outdoor activities and exercise
- Avoid use of vehicles
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Wear a face mask if you have significant respiratory illnesses
- Keep doors and windows closed
- Keep girls, boys and older adults inside homes
In addition to the very poor air qualitythe air and health indices in the stations are in extremely bad condition. It is expected that with the presence of some gusts of wind throughout the day, the air quality may improve in the coming hours.

Other stations, besides La Pinta, such as Miravalle, Santa Fe, Loma Dorada, Centro and Oblatos. They also have high concentration rates of PM10 particles. More details about this environmental contingency will be released in the next report from the Jalisco Atmospheric Monitoring System.
