Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman Addresses Left-Wing Demonstrations against Prime Minister Netanyahu in the US

Environmental Protection Minister, Idit Silman, took the opportunity today (Monday) to address the left-wing demonstrations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the United States. Silman also responded to critics from the left who have accused her of being directly involved in the overthrow of the previous government.

In a tweet posted on her personal Twitter account, Silman explained her decision to topple the left-wing government and bring in a right-wing government: “For those who still wonder why I overthrew the left-wing government and brought in the establishment of a right-wing government, look at the projections on the UN building that are inciting against Israel, and watch my head ‘Brothers in Arms’ They run from studio to studio, questioning the legitimacy of the IDF’s actions.”

Silman went on to discuss her observations leading up to her decision to overthrow the previous government: “What I saw a year and a half ago – everyone sees clearly today. Unfortunately, there are those who have crossed borders here and reached districts that did not look like them. And it is both amazing and painful to see that even now no one in the opposition shakes off and condemns.”

In addition to addressing the demonstrations and criticisms, Silman announced her arrival in the United States and the purpose of her visit: “I landed in the USA a little while ago, and now I am on my way to sign a very important memorandum of understanding on which we have worked hard. After that, I will hold a series of meetings and participate in several environmental summits at the United Nations, where we will bring good news to all the house of Israel.”

Silman’s visit to the US comes amidst ongoing political tension in Israel, with the left-wing opposition calling for Netanyahu’s resignation and criticizing Silman’s involvement in the change of government. As the Environmental Protection Minister, Silman’s visit aims to strengthen international partnerships and address environmental concerns at the United Nations summits.

Only time will tell how her visit and her response to criticisms will shape the political landscape in Israel.
