The Employees’ Provident Fund has decided to increase the coverage of the pension scheme whereby employees who contribute to the scheme will be paid a monthly pension of Rs.3000 after the age of 60 years.

Employees earning more than Rs 15,000 have no coverage but only simple pension.

The new scheme will provide pension, widow’s pension, children’s pension and disability pension. The service for these pension benefits will be increased from 10 to 15 years.
