The gendarmes of the Montmorency research brigade are appealing for witnesses after the discovery of the lifeless body of a driver in Épiais-lès-Louvres (Val-d’Oise), Saturday morning. It was then 7:40 a.m. when the victim, a 93-year-old man, was found driving his car. The Peugeot 206 SW was partly in the ditch on the edge of the departmental 165, at the level of a roundabout, near the runways of Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

The exact circumstances of the death remain unknown at this stage. Did the driver feel unwell at the wheel of his vehicle, ending his race in the ditch? Has he been hit by another car ? The first elements collected by the gendarmes suggest that the victim came from the Mesnil-Amelot sector, in Seine-et-Marne, and was heading towards Louvres, in Val-d’Oise.

An impact at the rear of the vehicle

His 206, found with the front wheels in the ditch, had a relatively large impact on its left rear side suggesting that an impact had occurred, which could possibly explain the trajectory of the car. However, there is no certainty as to the date of this collision with another car.

The 93-year-old deceased driver was of strong build, measuring less than 1m70, his head was bald. Wearing glasses, he was dressed in black pants and a blue polo shirt. His gray blue 206 had a plate modeled on the old registrations, with the department number 93.

The absence of elements enabling the circumstances of the facts to be understood prompted the gendarmes to launch an appeal for witnesses to invite all persons who could provide useful information to the investigation to come forward to the Montmorency research brigade, in dialing 01.39.64.94.43.
