French researchers have observed that products which influence the expression of certain genes increase the efficacy of immunotherapies against several types of tumours.
Over the past ten years, immunotherapy has enabled considerable progress in the treatment of certain cancers, in particular melanoma and lung cancer. But, for some reason that remains unclear, in the face of various types of tumors, some people respond better than others to this revolutionary treatment. In the midst of the search for a lever that can restore to immunotherapy its capacity to awaken the immune system against cancerous cells, epimedicines occupy a place of choice, confirmed by the results presented by a French team at the major international oncology congress in Chicago, the Asco.
