The Board of Directors of EPM approved the appointment of 5 new vice presidents, who will take office this Friday February 16.

This is a management team that will work to fulfill the higher purpose of EPM:

“contribute to the harmony of life for a better world”,

says in a statement from the local utility company.

The new directors were appointed to the following vice presidencies:

  1. Finance and Investment Executive.
  2. Legal Affairs.
  3. Employee Experience and Organizational Solutions.
  4. Communication and Corporate Relations.
  5. Shared Supplies and Services.

The new directors of EPM

Executive Vice President of Finance and Investments: Diana Rúa Jaramillo

He is an economist from the Universidad Autónoma Latinoamericana, in Medellín, with a Specialization in Corporate Finance and Capital Markets from the Universidad Pontifica Bolivariana, in Medellín.

She has developed her professional career at EPM, since she joined the position of financial analyst in the Energy Financial Department in 1994. Her talent and knowledge led her to various promotions in the Company, including: Planning specialist, head of the Capital Management Unit, deputy director of Financial Planning, director of Institutional Finance, vice president of Corporate Finance and manager of Accounting and Financial Services . Currently she was in charge of the Executive Vice Presidency of Finance and Investments.

Vice President Legal Affairs: Gabriel Jaime Velásquez Restrepo

Lawyer from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, in Medellín, he has a Specialization in Administrative Law from the same institution.

He joined EPM in 1999, as head of the Legal Process Unit. In the Company he has also held management positions as Deputy Director of Legal Processes and Claims, Assistant Secretary, and Legal Manager of Grupo EPM. At this time he was vice president (e) of Legal Affairs and secretary general (e). In addition to remaining head of Legal Affairs, he will continue as head of the General Secretariat of EPM.

Vice President Employee Experience and Organizational Solutions: María Patricia Giraldo Velásquez

He studied Systems Engineering at EAFIT University, Medellín. Institution where she also completed a Master’s Degree in Administration.

Much of his professional experience was acquired at EPM, a company where he worked between October 1992 and March 2023. In 31 years of working at EPM he served, among other positions, as head of the Customer Section, head of the Organizational Development, deputy director of Human and Organizational Planning, director of Organizational Management and manager of Human Development and Organizational Culture.

Vice President of Communication and Corporate Relations: Mónica Pinzón Bueno

She is a social communicator with an emphasis in Organizational Communication from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá, with a Specialization in Communication Law, from the same institution.

She has extensive experience in management and corporate relations positions, including head of the Communications Advisory Office of the Ministry of National Education of Colombia (August 2001- September 2002), Minister Plenipotentiary- Consul General of Colombia in Boston, United States (February 2010 -May 2015) and Minister Plenipotentiary-consul general of Colombia in Vancouver, Canada- head of consular office (July 2015-August 2017). She is also Communications Manager, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Zijin-Continental Gold, and Communications Head at Sanofi Aventis.

Vice President of Shared Supplies and Services: Humberto José Iglesias Gómez

He is a public accountant from EAFIT University. At this university he also studied a specialization in Organizational Control and a master’s degree in Administration.

In his professional career, it stands out that he was Business Commercial Manager, and Business Commercial Manager-Factoring Zone Management of the Bancolombia Group, general director of the Social Institute of Housing and Habitat of Medellín – ISVIMED- (January 2016-April 19, 2017), office secretary of Mobility of the Mayor’s Office of Medellín (April 20, 2017-December 2019), as well as a consultant and advisor to companies and institutions in the public and private sector.
