/ Erbil club management confirmed on Tuesday that the players were persuaded to go to Erbil airport and will leave for Basra to play the match tomorrow in front of the port.

Musa Mohsen, a member of the club’s management, told Agency, “The management convinced the players to play the next match in front of Al-Minaa tomorrow after some of them refused to play in protest for not receiving their dues.”

Mohsen added, “The administration promised the players that they would pay their dues after they return from playing two matches in the ninth and tenth rounds outside Erbil.”

He pointed out that “the administration told the players that if they did not receive the money, they would stand by them, protest with them, and leave the club with them.”

He pointed out that the administration sent the football team’s administrative team by land to Basra, with the players joining by air to Basra.

It is noteworthy that Erbil players went on training strike and refused to travel to Basra and play the Al-Minaa match in the ninth round of the Iraq Stars League, until after receiving their financial dues.
