Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw announced today, Tuesday, the formation of a special committee to investigate the causes of fires in a number of shops and markets.
Khoshnaw said in a press conference attended by the correspondent of the (INA): “A special committee was formed to investigate the causes of the fire that affected markets, several shops and warehouses selling car accessories, and to estimate the damages and losses,” noting that “there were no casualties in the market fire, and after eight hours, the civil defense teams were able to extinguish the fire and control it.”
Khoshnaw added that “the causes of the fire are not yet known, and the committee formed on this issue will investigate to determine the reasons that led to the outbreak of the fire in the market,” indicating that “the market is equipped with a fire extinguishing system, and the committee will determine whether this system worked or not.”
