ISTANBUL (Reuters) – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has appointed Hafize Gaye Erkan, a finance executive in the United States, as the governor of the central bank of Turkey, the country’s Official Gazette said on Thursday.
The Official Gazette also reported that Erdogan appointed her predecessor, Sahap Kavcioglu, as head of the bank’s regulatory and supervisory body, BDDK.
