Turkey was initially right to pursue a balanced policy towards the Ukrainian conflict. It will continue efforts for its peaceful and fair settlement, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
“We initially made efforts to ensure peace and stability in Ukraine. By acting fairly towards our two neighbors and pursuing a balanced policy, we prevented the fire of the conflict from spreading to the Black Sea basin. No one has benefited from this bloodshed. Even those who criticized us when the conflict began now admit that we were right,” TRT Haber quotes Erdogan as saying.
At a meeting chaired by Erdogan on July 24, the Turkish Security Council declared the need to intensify efforts to quickly resolve the Ukrainian conflict and establish a just and lasting peace, preventing it from spreading to the region.
Ankara has previously repeatedly stated its readiness to act as a mediator in resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
