Stating that the voters abroad, despite all the difficulties, fulfill their civic duties in the best way, showing great favor to him and the People’s Alliance, Erdoğan said:
“You did not give in to the attempts of the members of the terrorist organization to intimidate, put pressure on you, and usurp your will. You have strengthened the power of Turkish democracy, you have made us all proud as a nation. Each of you has already written your name in our political history with golden letters.”
Emphasizing that he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the voters abroad for this upright, democratic and astute stance they displayed, Erdoğan continued as follows:
“Now we have the second round of the Presidential Elections ahead of us. Voting process abroad and at customs gates starts tomorrow (Saturday, 20 May). I ask you to exercise your democratic right by closely following the election dates in the countries you are in. I expect you, the representatives of our nation abroad, to once again strongly support your will. I sincerely believe that we will come out of this test with a clear conscience.”
