We came all the way to Intel’s development center in Haifa to meet a very interesting personality – meet the old Intel employee in Israel, who has accompanied her since the seventies of the last century

In September of last year, Intel held a press event in which it invited dozens of journalists from around the world to Israel, the Intel Tech Tour 2022, in which we also participated and as part of which we were also privileged to tour Intel’s development center in Haifa in order to see the beating heart of the engineering and testing centers for its various processors.

A large part of the tour was at various positions where Intel engineers explained the processes, challenges and the way in which their department handles and processes its part of the engineering and production chain on the way to the final customer.

One of the positions belonged to the humble beginnings of Intel in Israel and there was a different personality in the landscape of engineers familiar to us at Intel. Eric Shemer is an engineer with many years of experience at Intel, and actually serves as the oldest Intel Israel employee.

At the end of that tour of the development center we wanted to hear more and know more. A few weeks passed and we arrived again at the development center to have a personal conversation with Eric and to hear more about his beginnings and Intel Israel in general, about the growth and the things we must not give up. We will admit that part of the reason is also to understand the secrets that stand behind a passion for action and long-term survival in the profession. Here is the result:
