Known for his grand announcements, the founder of the MCG, Eric Stauffer, is once again making headlines. After his dramatic departure from Valais in 2018, he is returning to settle in Geneva, in his stronghold of Onex, announces the Tribune de Genève this Wednesday. Thus, it is an “adventure that is coming to an end” for Eric Stauffer, marked by the sale of his properties and his withdrawal from the municipal elections in Arbaz, where he had moved and where he experienced some legal troubles related to neighborhood issues.
Characterized by multiple twists and turns, his political career has never regained momentum after his departure from the MCG in 2016. The following year, Eric Stauffer made a brief political comeback by founding the party Genève en marche. He failed in the cantonal elections in 2018. In 2019, during the federal elections, he ran on a list “Parti citoyen démocrate Genève d’abord,” allied with the PBD, for the National Council. Without success. Recently, he had joined the UDC in Valais and even claimed he wanted to run for the presidency of the commune of Arbaz under these new colors. When questioned by the Tribune de Genève about his future at the lake’s end, Eric Stauffer reveals his intentions to “get in touch” with his former party and the Geneva section of the UDC. However, this does not seem so straightforward.
