Erick Pulgar Opens Up About Sister’s Depression as Flamengo Rises to the Top of Brasileirão

by time news

During the last week, Erick Pulgar revealed a depression affecting his sister, which fortunately is evolving positively. The midfielder used his social media to make the information public with a powerful post, which quickly filled with encouraging messages.

The Flamengo midfielder also decided to move his family to Rio de Janeiro after being asked to return to Brazil immediately following la Roja‘s participation in the Copa América 2024. With no days off, the player from Antofagasta made this decision to be close to his loved ones.

This Sunday, as ‘Fla’ defeated Atlético Goianiense 2-0 to rise to the top of the Brasileirao 2024, part of the club’s coaching staff spoke about Pulgar‘s situation in response to a query from AS. The first to address the situation was César Sampaio, assistant coach, who acknowledged that “we are aware, but we have not delved deeply into the subject. Personally, if he had opened up to any possibility, we would always be there to help him and anyone else”.

In terms of his behavior, he did not show any alteration in training. I understand this is a very particular situation. Sometimes it’s not appropriate to intrude,” admitted the former player.

But Tite, the coach of ‘Mengao’, went further and stated that “Erick is a great person and values his family. That is very significant. That is very dignified. He values his relatives and close people. Conceptually, it is of very great magnitude. He is the type to do this (opens his arms), ‘come here and feel welcomed’.”
