jpnn.com – Patrick Kluivert’s name has emerged as a strong candidate to replace Shin Tae Yong as coach of the Indonesian National Team.
PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir said he had interviewed a number of potential successors to Shin Tae Yong.
However, Erick did not explain in detail the names of the coaches in question.
“There were three names that were interviewed for us to use as options. Because we believe that no coach is perfect,” said Erick in a press conference.
Erick said that he would announce the new coach for the Indonesian National Team on January 12.
“There will be a press conference at 4, January 12,” added the former Inter Milan president.
One name that is widely mentioned as being in charge of the Indonesian National Team is Patrick Kluivert, especially as Erick has hinted that the prospective new coach for the Indonesian National Team already has a name in the world of football.
“Several names who already have names in the world of football, they are not only looking for work, they also definitely want to have a legacy to be part of Indonesia’s history towards the 2026 World Cup,” added Erick.
