Chennai: People’s Justice Center President Kamal Haasan has said that he will support the Congress party in the Erode East by-election.
Congress party candidate and senior executive of the party, EVKS Ilangovan, who is contesting on behalf of the DMK alliance in the Erode East constituency by-election, met Kamal Haasan, president of the Makkal Neeti Maiyam, last Monday and sought his support.
After this meeting, EVKS Ilangovan had said, “I requested him to support me. Kamal Haasan said that he will discuss with the party executives and take a decision.”
In this case, an emergency executive committee and executive committee meeting was held today (Jan. 25) at 11.30 a.m. under the leadership of president Kamal Haasan regarding the Erode East assembly constituency by-election.
After this, Kamal Haasan said to the media, “It has been unanimously decided to support the candidate of the Congress party who is contesting on behalf of the DMK alliance in the Erode East by-election. I and my party will provide necessary assistance for his victory. I request all the voters to support EVKS Elangovan and make him win.” .
