Erode Municipal District Secretary and former Minister KV Ramalingam participated in the meeting held at Erode AIADMK party office. Later, he said, “DMK came to power by making many false promises. The DMK government has stopped various welfare schemes that were implemented during the AIADMK regime. Due to the increase in property tax, house tax and electricity bill, this government has put a burden of at least 10 thousand rupees on every family. People are very hostile towards DMK.
During the last AIADMK regime, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami gave Rs 2500 to every family during Pongal. Then the current Chief Minister M. K. Stalin said that he should give 5000 rupees. However, he did not provide any financial support for Pongal last year. Instead he gave people low quality groceries. Currently he is giving only Rs 1000 to people. AIADMK held a huge protest in Tiruvannamalai and ordered to supply sugarcane to the people as they insisted on purchasing sugarcane.
During AIADMK regime, even laptops, gold for thali etc. given to poor people have been stopped. Law and order was good then. At present Tasmac shops are operating illegally from street to street. They have made people addicted to alcohol and are in a state of unconsciousness. So to teach a lesson to this regime, we should win the Erode East by-election in 2026 to re-establish AIADMK rule under the leadership of Edappadiyar. We have to prove once again that Erode East has always been AIADMK’s stronghold,” he said.
