This alliance was concluded by Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P, and Hicham Iraqi Houssaini, Managing Director of SAP Francophone Africa, during the global GITEX Africa event held in Marrakech from May 29 to 31, 2024, specifies a joint press release from the two parties.
It is in line with the sovereign cloud project announced by UM6P and SAP in June 2023, which revealed the launch of the first cloud service in Morocco with Atlas Cloud Services (a subsidiary of UM6P), hosting the “RISE with SAP” offer.
The collaboration between UM6P and SAP will allow the two entities to accelerate their actions in the areas of innovation as well as sovereignty and enhanced data protection, in order to support Moroccan and African companies in more than 25 sectors of activity.
It will thus offer companies on the continent the possibility of benefiting from SAP cloud solutions technology on a global scale, while respecting local legal and regulatory compliance.
This initiative will also enable Morocco to accelerate its digital transformation in the region, strengthen its position in the global digital economy and create high value-added jobs for all customers and partners.
The solution will support UM6P in its digital transformation, by strengthening its operational efficiency in order to renew its internal processes, optimize resource management, improve the user experience across all of its operations and benefit from the latest technological innovations from SAP in a sovereign cloud.
The collaboration between UM6P and SAP represents a synergy of know-how of the two institutions allowing a combination of data security, regulatory compliance and performance for Moroccan and African companies concerned with protecting their information.
On this occasion, Mr. Iraqi Houssaini declared, according to the press release: “We are delighted to collaborate with UM6P to bring our ERP solutions hosted in a sovereign cloud, to a greater number of companies in Morocco and Africa.”
He added: “This partnership underlines our commitment to supporting UM6P and other companies on the continent in this technological revolution by providing them with innovative solutions enabling them to optimize their processes in real time, reduce their operational costs, and increase their performance.”
For his part, Mr. El Habti considered that this collaboration between UM6P and SAP marks an important step “in our mission to support digital transformation in Morocco and Africa.”

It is worth noting that in June 2023, SAP and Atlas Cloud Services (ACS) announced the launch of the first cloud service in Morocco hosting “RISE with SAP” solutions. The deployment of SAP ERP in Atlas Cloud Services servers to offer cloud solutions strengthens Morocco’s strategy by stimulating innovation and encouraging cloud adoption.
Atlas Cloud Services has a Data Center that meets international standards, certified Tier III and Tier IV by the Uptime Institute, and offers Cloud services based on the latest global technologies. The digital infrastructure deployed by UM6P through ACS gives Moroccan public and private institutions the opportunity to benefit from high-level solutions while ensuring digital sovereignty.
