Errachidia Court of Appeal: opening of the new judicial year

This ceremony was an opportunity to present the results of the judicial activities of this Court of Appeal and the courts under its jurisdiction for the past year, as well as to set out the key directions and prospects for the new judicial year.

Speaking on this occasion, the first president of the Court of Appeal of Errachidia, Mohamed Azzerbi, stressed that the opening of the new judicial year constitutes an opportunity to highlight the efforts of the different components of the judicial system, the results of judicial activities and the programs that will be implemented during the new year.

Addressing the annual report of the judicial district of the Court of Appeal of Errachidia, Mr. Azzerbi indicated that the number of cases registered at the level of this district has almost doubled over the past year, going from 3,892 cases registered in 2022 to 7,578 cases in 2023.

He further specified that the number of cases judged has seen a significant increase, from 4,381 cases judged in 2022 to 7,673 cases in 2023, adding that the amount of financial fines collected during the past year amounts to 2.56 million dirhams.

Furthermore, Mr. Azzerbi announced that two new courts of first instance will be inaugurated soon in the cities of Rich and Erfoud, in addition to the opening of the new headquarters of the court of first instance in Midelt.

For his part, Mohamed El Khayati, Attorney General of the King at the Court of Appeal of Errachidia, stressed that the Public Prosecutor’s Office is firmly committed to implementing the content of the criminal policy, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in particular those related to the defense of the law and the protection and maintenance of public order in compliance with the rule of law and the principles of justice and equity advocated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.

Mr. El Khayati also presented the statistics relating to complaints registered in 2023, specifying in this sense that the number of complaints registered amounts to 500 with a completion rate of 100%.

This figure represents a very satisfactory percentage which significantly benefits the efficiency and effectiveness of the structures of the judicial district of Errachidia, he noted.

This session took place in the presence of the Wali of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, governor of the Errachidia province, Yahdih Bouchaab, elected officials, representatives of the High Council of the Judiciary, the presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Minister of Justice, as well as civil and military figures.
