The Spanish company Escribano has acquired a 3% stake in the Indra group in an operation valued at more than 65 million euros, thus becoming the second industrial partner of the multinational and increasing its position of reference in the Defense sector in Spain.

From the company they affirm that the operation is the result of “a clear commitment to the solidity of the Spanish Defense industry, a leading and strategic sector for the socioeconomic development of our country, with which Escribano has a strong commitment and in which he wants to contribute his experience”.

With this investment, Escribano becomes Indra’s fifth largest shareholder. Ahead of them are the State Company for Industrial Participations (SEPI), Fidelity, Amber and SAPA.

Those responsible for Escribano point out that one of the factors that explains its growth in recent years has to do with the vision that in 2010 began to implement to achieve the vertical integration of its manufacturing capabilities.

For this reason, the company began an R+D+I policy incorporating engineers and technical profiles to be able to control the entire production chain of its products. Currently, Escribano fully designs and manufactures its products at its facilities in Alcalá de Henares.

In the last decade, the company has gone from 80 to 700 employees, with an estimated turnover of 140 million euros in 2023 and with operations in more than 20 countries.. To achieve this, Escribano develops an intense collaboration with the academic field, promoting synergies with universities and professional training centers in the Community of Madrid, the company explained.
