ESCRIBANO, a leading Spanish company in Defense and Security innovation and technology, has increased its stake in INDRA to reach 8%. The company, which was already INDRA’s second industrial partner after the purchase of 3.4% of its shares last May and which had the intention of continuing to grow within the listed company, increases its reference position in the Defense in Spain with this additional 4.6% in the company.

This is a strategic investment operation that aims to consolidate its business position, promoting the creation of new technologies, the development of new capabilities and the creation of qualified employment throughout Spain.

The operation will contribute to the development of current and future Defense programs in which the company works for both the international and national markets. This is the case of its recent implementation in Córdoba, a town in which it will invest 20 million for the production of new technologies for smart ammunition and rocket launchers with the consequent creation of more than 200 new direct highly qualified jobs, not being the only location selected by ESCRIBANO to encourage its commitment to territorial cohesion.

ESCRIBANO, founded in 1989, has stood out for having profitable growth of around 35% on average annually in the last 10 years, thanks to the vertical integration of its manufacturing capabilities and the incorporation of engineering areas, a milestone that marked that the workforce went from having 80 professionals in 2010 to more than 750 today, of which 40% are women, with an average age of between 30 and 35 years, the majority of them being engineers and technical profiles.

This growth has been marked by the Escribano brothers’ strong commitment to investment in innovation and R&D&I, which reaches 68% of their operating profit (13 million euros in 2022) and has seen an increase in 126% in the last two years.

Currently, the company exports to more than 25 countries and plans to close 2023 with a turnover of 120 million euros. In addition, it has recently received the BBB (Investment Grade) credit rating seal, a recognition that certifies its solvency to undertake corporate operations and that only 8% of the audited companies achieve.

ESCRIBANO continues with its strategy of creating qualified employment and creating new technological capabilities with national sovereignty, betting on industrial collaboration through consortia and contributing to the growth of Spanish industry, having invested more than 77M euros in Spanish companies in the last 3 years. .
