ESE – Energy Services Regulatory Entity approved tariffs and gas prices for the gas year 2024-2025, in accordance with the parameters established for the regulatory period 2024-2027.
According to a guideline published this Tuesday in Diário da República, gas prices will increase for the gas year 2024-2025. The values of regulated tariffs and prices have been adjusted to reflect the evolution of costs and market conditions. Specifically, the gas acquisition unit costs for last resort suppliers, which bear the energy tariff, were estimated to be slightly higher compared to the values for the gas year 2023-2024. In addition, the significant reversal of accepted adjustments in revenues, which range from values to be returned to consumers to values to be recovered by companies, also contributes to the increase in gas prices.
The guide covers several areas, including tariffs for the use of gas infrastructure, social tariffs, tariffs for sales to final customers, empty and off-empty periods, adjustment factors for losses and self-consumption, the maximum cost for transport LNG by tank. , parameters for defining tariffs, financial flows between regulated companies and prices for gas control services.
The approval of tariffs and prices follows a process of consultation and public hearing, with a favorable opinion from the Tariff Council and consideration of the recommendations made.
The directive maintains tariff uniformity in terms of transitional tariff prices and the social sales tariff for final gas customers from suppliers of last resort throughout the territory.
