Bollywood actress and Bollywood star couple Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s daughter Esha Deol for divorce. In a joint statement, she and her husband Bharat Takhtani are ending their 11-year marriage. Isha and Bharat say that the breakup is “amicable”.
“We have decided to part ways amicably. Along with this big change in our lives, the well-being and happiness of our two children is important to us. We appreciate your respecting our privacy,” Isha and Bharat said in a statement to Delhi Times. They have two daughters, 6-year-old Radhya and 4-year-old Miraya. Isha and Bharat got married in 2012.
Last year, after Bharat was absent from Hema Malini’s grand birthday party, there were speculations that Isha and Bharat had broken up. Bharat did not attend Isha’s birthday celebration either.
In her 2020 parenting book ‘Mamma Mia’, Isha noted that she felt neglected by her husband after welcoming their second daughter. “After my second baby, I noticed that for a while, Bharat was a little uncomfortable with me. Bharat felt that I was not paying enough attention to him. It is very natural for a husband to feel that way. Because at that time, I was very busy with Radhya’s playschool stuff and looking after Miraya. And the hustle and bustle of writing my book and managing production meetings. So, he felt neglected. I quickly realized the error of my ways. I remembered Bharat asking me for a new toothbrush and me forgetting it and not bothering to see if his shirts were ironed or check if he was having lunch. Bharat is a man without any great compulsions. If I couldn’t even take care of someone like that, I felt there was something wrong with me. I was determined to fix it.”
“Bharat is different. If he sees a problem, he tells me directly, looking me in the face. But there may be men who don’t. It reminds you to keep love alive. Realized I hadn’t gone on date nights or movies with him in a while. So I decided to get off my track. Changed her unkempt hair, dressed up in nice clothes and started going out with him on weekends,” says Isha.
