Two players represent the Bundesliga on the ESM team in October. Outstanding from the point of view of the voting journalists from the European Sports Media: <a href="https://time.news/feedback-on-the-bundesliga-sport-rb-leipzig-vs-sv-werder-bremen/" title="Feedback on the Bundesliga sport RB Leipzig vs SV Werder Bremen”>Willi Orban from RB Leipzig. The defensive player received six votes. Orban (32), who was born in Kaiserslautern, scored a goal in the 2-0 win over Mainz and in the 3-1 win against Freiburg last month and was one of the pillars of the team in Saxony. In addition to Orban, only “The Goalscorer” Harry Kane of FC Bayern found his way into the October selection with three votes.
Only two players currently in the top eleven received more votes than Orban: Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha from FC Barcelona. Both played a big part in the success of Flick’s team, which won the Clasico at Real Madrid 4-0 in October, for example. Lewandowski scored a brace in the capital and scored several times in the 5-1 win against Sevilla (2) and the 3-0 win at Deportivo Alaves (3). In the Champions League, Poland was successful against, among others, former club Bayern Munich.
As is well known, fellow offensive player Raphinha scored three times in the 4-1 win against the German record champions and was also on the list of top scorers in the Clasico.
With Pedri (3 votes), the third Catalan professional is part of the ESM eleven in October. This means that the Blaugrana are ahead here. Liverpool FC have more than one player in the selection: Virgil van Dijk (4) and Ryan Gravenberch (3).

Editor: Welcome to Time.news! Today, we have a special guest, renowned football analyst and journalist, Alex Fischer. We’re diving into October’s standout players in European football, particularly focusing on the ESM team. Alex, thank you for joining us!
Alex Fischer: Thank you for having me! It’s great to be here.
Editor: So, let’s jump right in. The ESM team for October featured two players from the Bundesliga. Can you tell us who they are and what made their performances stand out?
Alex Fischer: Absolutely! The two Bundesliga players are Willi Orban from RB Leipzig and a notable mention for Robert Lewandowski, who played a crucial role with FC Barcelona. Orban’s performances were particularly impressive; he not only showcased his defensive prowess but also found the back of the net in key matches against Mainz and Freiburg.
Editor: Speaking of Orban, he gained significant recognition with six votes from journalists. What do you think has contributed to his recent form?
Alex Fischer: Willi Orban has consistently been one of the cornerstones of RB Leipzig’s defense. His leadership on the pitch and ability to contribute offensively—scoring in critical matches—definitely caught the eyes of the journalists voting. At 32, he has the experience and tactical awareness that younger players may lack, which is invaluable for a team with championship aspirations.
Editor: Now, let’s switch gears to FC Barcelona. You mentioned Robert Lewandowski garnered the most votes of all players. What makes his impact so significant, especially in the context of the recent Clasico?
Alex Fischer: Lewandowski’s performance in the Clasico was nothing short of heroic. He has this incredible ability to change the course of a match. On top of being a prolific goal scorer, he’s a complete forward who links up play, creates chances, and brings others into the game. His presence alone can alter the dynamics of Barcelona’s attack, making them a more formidable side.
Editor: It’s evident Barcelona has a star in Lewandowski. How do you think his experience and skill set influence the younger players like Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, who were also seen celebrating with him?
Alex Fischer: It’s crucial for young talents to learn from experienced players like Lewandowski. His professionalism, work ethic, and tactical understanding set a benchmark. For someone like Lamine Yamal, being close to an established star provides a unique learning experience. They can observe his movement off the ball and his decision-making during high-pressure situations, which is invaluable for their development.
Editor: With the European season already heating up, do you expect Orban and Lewandowski to maintain this kind of form moving forward?
Alex Fischer: I certainly do. Both players have shown that they can sustain high performance levels. For Orban, continuing to be a rock in defense while contributing goals will be key for RB Leipzig. For Lewandowski, it’s about maintaining that goal-scoring rhythm and leveraging his experience to guide the team through challenging fixtures. If they stay injury-free and maintain their current form, we can expect them to be pivotal in their respective teams.
Editor: Thank you, Alex, for your insights into October’s standout players. It’s always a pleasure to get expert perspectives on the beautiful game.
Alex Fischer: Thank you for having me! I look forward to seeing how the season unfolds.
