ESPN Show “The Pat McAfee Show” Causes Controversy with Aaron Rodgers’ Comments

The controversy surrounding Aaron Rodgers’ recent comments about Jimmy Kimmel has taken another turn, as ESPN senior vice president Mike Foss called Rodgers’ remarks “dumb and factually inaccurate” and announced that Rodgers would be back on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday.

“Pat announced today that he’s planning on Aaron joining the show Tuesday. Aaron made a dumb and factually inaccurate joke about Jimmy Kimmel,” Foss said in a statement passed along by ESPN.

Rodgers’ comments, made on the show earlier this week, drew an immediate response from Kimmel, who threatened Rodgers with court action after the comment.

Following the backlash, McAfee opened his show with an apology, stating, “We obviously don’t like the fact that we are associated with anything negative, ever. We like our show to be an uplifting one, a happy one, a fun one. But it’s because we talk s— and try to make light of everything. Some things, obviously people get very pissed off about especially when they (are) serious allegations. So we apologize for being a part of it.”

Tuesday, Rodgers implied that Kimmel’s name could appear in court documents from a case filed against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein before his death. Kimmel reposted a clip of the segment from “The Pat McAfee Show” and denied the allegation, stating, “For the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality.”

The controversy doesn’t stop there, as McAfee accused ESPN executive Norby Williamson of sabotaging his program by leaking false viewership information to the media. “There are some people actively trying to sabotage us from within ESPN,” McAfee said. “More specifically, Norby Williamson is the guy who is attempting to sabotage our program.”

The ongoing drama has kept fans and observers on the edge of their seats, and many are eagerly anticipating Rodgers’ return to “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday to see how the situation will unfold.
