This colorful evening, enhanced by the presence of the Advisor to His Majesty the King and Founding President of the Essaouira-Mogador Association, Mr. André Azoulay, the President of the Essaouira Municipal Council, Tarik Ottmani, as well as other personalities from various backgrounds, was hosted by the Andalusian Choral of the Cité des Alizés directed by the artist Hamza Jarti, with the participation of the talented artists Abderrahim Souiri and Abdelghafour Souiri.

The show also brought together musicians from the Al-Assala Orchestra of Andalusian Music from Meknes, who thrilled the audience with traditional melodies and poetic songs, masterfully embodying the rich and refined heritage of Andalusian music, Gharnati and popular traditional Moroccan music.

This artistic concert imbued with spirituality, offered diverse performances intended to highlight the local cultural and intellectual heritage, testifying to the authenticity of the city of Essaouira, its creative abundance, its cultural richness and its civilizational depth.

Thus, the audience was transported on a musical journey through time, where traditional instruments, such as the oud, violin, qanun and percussion resonated harmoniously, creating a moving and nostalgic atmosphere.

The captivated audience, made up of music lovers and curious onlookers, did not fail to show their enthusiasm and admiration throughout the evening, offering warm ovations and murmurs of admiration that punctuated each performance with infinite grace.

In a statement to MAP at the end of the evening, artist Abderrahim Souiri said he was happy to reconnect with the public of Essaouira, welcoming the warmth of the welcome and the enthusiasm of the spectators, who contributed to creating a unique and memorable atmosphere.

In this sense, he expressed his thanks to the organizers for their dedication and commitment, which made it possible to carry out this event with such success and professionalism.

For his part, the artist Hamza Jarti stressed that this musical evening aimed to promote Moroccan cultural heritage, to celebrate the Andalusian heritage of Essaouira, while strengthening the links between the Souiris and their rich cultural history.

“This artistic concert sincerely affirms our attachment to our identity and to the promotion of our cultural and artistic authenticity, with the aim of contributing to the intellectual influence of our country,” he added.

Initiated by the Al Anwar Al Mohammedia Association for Culture and Art, in partnership and with the support of the Municipality of Essaouira and the Local Development Company Essaouira Culture, Arts and Heritage (SDL. ECAP), this event also offered a space for meeting and exchange for culture and music lovers, thus strengthening the intergenerational transmission of this ancestral art.
