This annual meeting, marked by the presence of the Advisor to HM the King and founding President of the Essaouira-Mogador Association, André Azoulay, the governor of the province of Essaouira, Adil El Maliki, the president of the municipal council of Essaouira, Tarik Ottmani, and other personalities from various spheres, constitutes an opportunity to promote the values ​​of tolerance, mutual respect and living together, by promoting constructive intercultural dialogue and encouraging understanding between different communities and traditions.

Speaking on this occasion, Hicham Dinar, Moqadem of the Zaouia Kadiriya of Essaouira and director of the festival, highlighted the importance of this event as a platform for cultural convergence and intellectual exchange, emphasizing the need for preserve and celebrate cultural diversity as an essential foundation of peace and prosperity.

In this sense, he highlighted the intercultural vocation of the city of Essaouira, which for centuries has embodied a melting pot of encounters between different traditions, religions and ways of life.

For his part, Mr. El Malki explained that this event “reflects the spirit of tolerance and living together advocated by HM the King, and reinforces the cultural and tourist influence of the city of Essaouira.”

Recalling that the Cité des Alizés remains a symbol of living together and tolerance, Mr. El Malki also welcomed the great success of the 1st edition of this festival, emphasizing the perfect match between the values ​​embodied by Essaouira and the spirit of this event which celebrates cultural diversity and promotes intercultural dialogue.

For his part, Mr. Ottmani welcomed the enthusiasm generated by the festival, highlighting the rich tradition of coexistence between the different religious communities in Essaouira.

“This festival offers a unique opportunity to concretely demonstrate that harmonious coexistence is possible between the Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities,” he added.

The Secretary of External Action to the European Union and Cooperation of the Government of Andalusia, Enric Millo, for his part, highlighted the importance of Andalusia as a place of meeting between civilizations, marked by an exceptional cultural and historical mix.

“Despite differences in belief, we are all united in the quest for a light that transcends differences,” said Mr. Millo, highlighting the unifying power of the common quest for universal values, which transcends religious and religious boundaries. encourages harmony and understanding between people.

Speaking in turn, the Ambassador of Spain to Morocco, Enrique Ojeda, praised the essential role of the city of Essaouira in promoting interreligious dialogue, expressing his optimism about the positive impact of this meeting on coexistence and fraternity.

“Essaouira has always been a haven of peace that transcends religious divisions, offering a living example of peaceful coexistence between different communities,” continued Mr. Ojeda.

Initiated by the Association of Young People of Authentic Art, Samaâ and Heritage of Zaouia Kadiria in Essaouira, in partnership with the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, this year the festival invites Jewish and Muslim artists to celebrate coexistence, living together and pluralism which make up the DNA of Moroccan society.

The program of this event includes symposia, round tables, concerts and religious ceremonies, with the participation of an eminent selection of researchers and intellectuals.

In addition, nearly 120 Muslim, Jewish and Christian artists will come together to create together a space of communion, awareness, sharing and music.

This major cultural event also aims to promote cooperation and common action between the communities of the three religions, each contributing from its fraternity or its respective field of work, with a view to resolving common problems, promoting well-being social, peaceful coexistence and resolution of conflicts without violence.
