Estee Lauder Companies Takes on Breast Cancer in Thailand

Estee Lauder Companies, a renowned beauty and skincare brand, is continuing its mission to eradicate breast cancer from the world. In collaboration with the National Cancer Institute and Bangkok, they have launched a campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer among Thai women.

The campaign aims to provide proactive women’s cancer screening to Thai women of working age. The goal is to deliver basic knowledge about breast cancer and encourage self-screening. Estee Lauder Companies will be offering breast cancer screening to over 1,500 working-age Thai women aged 40 and above on October 30-31 and November 2023. A total of 240 mammograms will be conducted to detect high-risk conditions. Additionally, cervical cancer screening opportunities will be expanded to women aged 30 years and over.

Thipaporn Unakul, General Manager of Estée Lauder Companies Thailand, expressed their commitment to raising awareness of breast cancer for over 30 years. This year marks the 20th year in Thailand for the company’s breast cancer campaign. The aim is to make women all over the world aware of the dangers of breast cancer and provide working-age Thai women with the opportunity for early detection through screening.

Dr. Napa Siriwiwattanakul, Director of the National Cancer Institute, emphasized the urgent need for cancer screening. In 2022 alone, more than 20,000 cases of breast cancer were reported among Thai women, while over 5,422 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer. Early detection plays a crucial role in improving survival rates and receiving timely treatment.

To further support the mission to eradicate breast cancer, Estee Lauder Companies has initiated a project to raise awareness through the sale of pink products. The proceeds from these sales will be donated to the National Cancer Institute to support breast cancer patients who lack funds and vulnerable women in Thailand.
