Estrela da Amadora won, this Saturday night, the Angolan Petro de Luanda by 2-1, in what was their presentation game to members and supporters and the 3rd edition of the José Gomes Trophy.
Playing in his stadium and with a good human frame, repeating the duel of last season, Sérgio Vieira presented a starting team in the image of last season, starting with Bruno Brígido, Kialonda Gaspar, Mansur, Miguel Lopes, Jean Felipe, João Reis , Aloísio, Vitó, Ronald, Ronaldo Tavares and Regis.
The 1st half had a slow rhythm and Petro de Luanda ended up superiority, reaching the opening goal in the 31st minute, in a move where Deivi Vieira worked well on the left and crossed for the assertive header of the Honduran Jonathan Toro, formerly of Académico de Viseu. Petro de Luanda could even have expanded shortly afterwards, not least because Estrela’s first danger situation, for Regis, only arrived at the top of the break.
For the 2nd half, the big news on the part of Estrela was the presentation of their 3rd kit, with which they played, with Sérgio Vieira taking the same 11 to the game. However, the attitude was quite different, in such a way that the Amadora team needed just nine minutes to tie the game, following a corner, by Kialonda Gaspar.
Estrela continued on top of the game and ended up achieving the final comeback at 69′, as a result of a move from the left, finished by Regis at the far post, to make it 2-1. Shortly afterwards, Sérgio Vieira promoted the team’s usual rotation for a game of these contours and the home team would win the game, taking home the José Gomes Trophy, in its presentation to members and fans.
