Étampes: a big fire affects the fire station, the staff evacuated

by time news

Impressive flames and firefighters forced to evacuate the premises… A fire broke out in the fire and rescue center of Étampes (Essonne) this Friday evening, after 11 p.m., without causing any injuries. The fire, whose origin remains to be determined, seems to have originated in a building located within the barracks, but not directly in the place of life where the dormitories, the rest room and the refectory are located.

The premises were evacuated, while many vehicles converged in the night towards the center to try to contain the fire. The burning building houses a shed, a technical room, a garage with emergency vehicles and a mechanical workshop. Around midnight, the fire was gaining strength, favored by the presence of flammable products. Major material damage in perspective, but no casualties were to be deplored.
