The European Union (EU) imposed a total ban on Russian coal imports. The European Union said the sanctions would affect 25 percent of Russian coal exports and cost $8 billion a year. The new decision comes amid efforts to completely end fuel imports from Russia.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that Ukraine will export weapons. Germany approves $710 million in arms exports Denmark announced that it would increase the total financing to $500 million, including new aid of $113 million. The US has so far provided $9.1 billion in aid.
Britain has announced that it will send rocket launchers and guided missiles to Ukraine. On Wednesday, Ukraine claimed to have destroyed nine Russian warplanes at an air base in Crimea. Russia denied the claim. But satellite images show that at least seven fighter jets have crashed and others have been damaged.
