EU Commission wants to continue supporting Bulgaria with border security – Bulgaria

Brussels/Vienna – On Friday, the EU Commission responded to Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s (ÖVP) request to provide money for border fences in Bulgaria. It is up to Bulgaria to decide what resources it needs to protect its borders, and then it would be happy to provide further assistance, a commission spokesman said. The EU border protection agency Frontex is currently represented in Bulgaria with 137 employees and equipment.
