Europe Unsatisfied With Chinese Solutions on Electric Car Subsidies

by time news

Brussels has expressed dissatisfaction with the solutions presented so far by China, aimed at addressing the European Union’s concerns about the “negative effects” caused by Beijing’s significant subsidies for electric cars, and thus avoiding the imposition of further tariffs, a spokesperson for the European Commission said.

The EU antitrust authority has carefully examined the proposals put forward by Chinese producers, but has found them not to comply with the established criteria. “The discussion continues,” the spokesperson said, confirming that Valdis DombrovskisVice President of the Community Executive, will meet the Chinese Minister of Commerce in Brussels Wang Wentao next September 19th.
