European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ylva Johansson said that about 300 thousand Ukrainians entered the EU after the start of the Russian military operation. Ms. Johansson noted that not everyone requested refugee status. At the same time, she urged to prepare for the arrival of millions of citizens of Ukraine.

“To date, about 300,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the EU countries. And I am impressed by the solidarity of the member states towards the Ukrainians,” Ylva Johansson said before an emergency meeting of the EU Council in Brussels (TASS quote). “It is difficult to say now, but I think that we should be ready for millions,” the European Commissioner answered the question of journalists, how many more Ukrainians the EU expects.

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi informedthat the number of refugees from Ukraine who moved to Poland, Hungary, Romania, Moldova and other countries is growing and now stands at 368 thousand people.

On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, which continues for the fourth day. Almost immediately after that, long lines of cars began to accumulate on the western borders of Ukraine wishing to leave the country.
