The main indices of the leading European stock markets closed mostly with declines. In the center of investors’ attention today were the latest corporate profits reported by a number of companies, reported CNBC, quoted by BTA.

In Frankfurt, the DAX shed 83.52 points, or 0.45 percent, to 18,303.94.

The Paris CAC 40 lost 86.71 points, or 1.15 percent, to 7,427.02.

London’s FTSE 100 rose 32.66 points, or 0.4 percent, to 8,186.35.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 is down by 0.72 percent to the level of 508.62 points, with the papers of automobile companies falling the most – by an average of 1.7 percent. European carmakers Renault and Stellantis fell 7.49 percent and 8.69 percent, respectively, after the two companies reported a drop in profits in the first half of the year.

“Stellantis” registered a 48 percent annual decline in net profit for the first half – to 5.65 billion euros, while at “Renault” the decrease in profit for the same period was 1.29 billion euros, at 2.09 billion euros for the first six months of last year.
