MALMÖ / OSLO (Nettavisen): On Saturday evening, the stage is finally set for the grand final of Eurovision in Malmö. It is the band Gåte that will represent Norway during the song competition.
The band consists of five members, and will be the first Norwegian entry to sing in Norwegian at Eurovision since 2006. Then it was Christine Guldbrandsen who won with the song “Alvedansen”.
In advance of the grand final, Nettavisen created an unceremonious poll, and there is no doubt that many are unsure of Norway’s chances of winning.
As many as 93 percent believe that there will be no victory for Norway on Saturday night, while 7 percent have faith in Norway’s contribution. At the time of writing, 5,055 people have voted, but the votes continue to pour in.
However, Nettavisen’s own MGP commentator, Maria Ludvigsen, believes that Norway finally has a winning chance in the international competition.
– Hurray! Now Norway were good. Riddle was the only correct choice. For the first time in a very long time, we have a real chance of winning. If we don’t win, we will definitely finish in the top five, Ludvigsen has previously stated.
Gåte will go into the fire as number 14 out of a total of 26 entries in the final on Saturday.
