In an interview with the newspaper The Sunday Times, Hollywood star Eva Mendes (50) talks about her ambivalent relationship with the profession of acting.
Praising her husband
This year marks ten years since Mendes was last seen in a role on the big screen.
– I was never in love with the acting profession. I don’t mean that in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a good actress, she says in the interview.
– I had my moments when I worked with very talented people, she adds.

According to her, the best acting job was when she starred opposite her husband Ryan Gosling in the film ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’. The couple has two kids together.
She was also seen in a small role in the film ‘Lost River’ in 2014, directed by her husband.
– He brings something out of me that I didn’t know how to reach before, Mendes says about her husband in the interview.

Mendes also mentions that she does not rule out making a comeback if Gosling joins her.
– It’s something I would love to do, she says.
– Made me angry
The 50-year-old reveals that she is not interested in any sexualized roles and that there was a time when she either got roles because of her Cuban genes or lost roles because of it.
Demands the industry takes better care of the artists
– That’s all they said at the beginning. “She’s too ethnic for this, too ethnic for that”. It was so crazy, she recounts, noting that it suddenly turned around to where having a Latin appearance was suddenly in vogue.
– It gave me energy because it made me angry, she shares.
