Evangelical secretary attends forum on biblical values

Sonaira Fernandes, state secretary of Policies for Women in São Paulo, currently under the command of Governor Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, was authorized by the state to travel to Switzerland in order to participate in an event to encourage faith.

This is a global congress conceived by Pastor Luciano Bongarrá, from Argentina, founder of the Parliament and Faith project, whose objective is to defend and give visibility to the Christian worldview in government spheres.

Bongarrá has already been to Brazil speaking on the subject, in 2018. On the occasion, he was at the City Council of Gramado (RS), together with representatives of the Evangelical Banquet of the National Congress and various religious leaders, informed the state legislature.

This year, the evangelical secretary Sonaira Fernandes went to Geneva, the capital of Switzerland, where the event entitled “Uniting our Nations and Reconciling” takes place between the 6th and 10th of that month.

“Parlamento e Fé wants to establish in each Congress, each municipality, each place, each city hall in the world a man of God so that he can transmit the transforming message of Jesus Christ”, explains Pastor Bongarrá, second a Folha de S. Paulo.

firm positions

Sonaira Fernandes has drawn attention for her firm positions in defense of Christian values. As councilwoman, she defended pro-life agendas, presenting projects contrary to the leftist agenda, such as the promotion of gender ideology and feminism.

Now in charge of the state secretariat for Policies for Women in São Paulo, the evangelical secretary has become the target of attacks because of her biblical positions, as well as criticism of the current government Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), classified by her as an “enemy of the Christian faith”.

“One thing is certain: evangelicals will never walk alongside someone who positions himself as an enemy of the Christian faith, defending abortion and drug legalization, among other things. Lula’s history, in politics and in the police, shows that he is the exact opposite of what true Christians value,” Sonaira said on one occasion, according to the Gossip Gospel.
