Even if a national government is formed, we will never be ready – the federation

MA Sumanthiran has stated that even if a national government is formed, there is no possibility of the TNA taking over the ministry post.

He was speaking to the media after the TNA political committee meeting in Vavuniya yesterday.

He also said that he had personally presented to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa the need for the government to voluntarily abolish the executive presidency.

Sumanthiran said the government would provide alternatives and ideas to help the people recover from the economic crisis.

Meanwhile, he said the TNA would meet to decide on a no-confidence motion against the government, the abolition of the executive branch and a criminal motion against the head of state.
