Wellington: Ben Stokes, the world’s leading all-rounder, has said that even if Chennai Super Kings (CSK) qualify for the finals of the IPL T20 cricket series, he will give priority to playing Test matches for England.

England cricket team’s all-rounder Ben Stokes did not play in the IPL last year. This season he is playing for Chennai Super Kings. CSK had bid for Ben Stokes for Rs 16.25 crore in the auction held a few months back. This year’s IPL series will be held from March 31 to May 28.

In 3 days after the end of the IPL series, the England team is going to play a test match against Ireland. The match is seen as a preview of the Ashes Test series against Australia starting on June 16.

As a result, Ben Stokes plans to leave the IPL series early to prepare for the Ireland Test match. Due to this, Ben Stokes’ participation in CSK’s final matches is questionable.

Ben Stokes says, “Even if Chennai Super Kings qualify for the finals of the IPL, I will play for England. I will go back to England for the Test match against Ireland. I will also make sure to give it enough time. The status of other players cannot be said at this time. But I will talk to them. I will ask if they want to be ready for the Ashes Test series,” he said.

England’s Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Zobra Archer, Mark Wood, Harry Brook have also been signed for various teams in the IPL series. Chennai Super Kings will face Lucknow Super Giants in their first match of the IPL on 3rd April.
