Abhinachili Sangh, the association of small screen actors After the fall of the government, reformist artists wanted to sit with the leaders to reform the organization. But the artists said that on September 10, the committee of the actors’ association should be dissolved, alleging that the leaders did not do that, but that did not happen either.

However, the protest language of reformist artists does not stop. A group of artists appeared at Rabindra Sarovar in Dhanmondi of the capital yesterday at 3 pm under the banner of ‘Visual Media Artists Society’. In the gathering entitled ‘Talking, listening to talk’, the performers expressed their views on reforms.

Actress Ajmeri Haque Bandhan, Shyamal Mawla, Khairul Basar, Manoj Pramanik, Saberi Alam, Sohail Mandal, Nazia Haque Arsha, Mostafizur Noor Imran, Imtiaz Varshan, Pemana Masuk, Elina Shammi, Sikder Mukit, producer Email Haque and others were present.

Khairul Basar said, “The attack on students during the anti-discrimination movement is unprecedented. More than 600 lives were lost in July-August. In this movement, some leaders and members of our artists’ organization ‘Abhinayashilpi Sangh’ started a group called ‘Alo Ashbei’ on the side of the dictatorial government. Now when we walk on the road, friends insult us by saying ‘the light will come’. When reforms are going on in the whole country after the fall of the government, we want the reforms of our artists’ organization ‘Abhinayashilpi Sangh’. We want to sit with them. But we don’t think that the way they treated us as artists or non-artists is artistic. So they should leave with dignity.”

Throwing the question, actor Shyamal Mawla said, ‘It has been a few days that a political side of artists has come to light. But we don’t want that. We all want to be one family under one umbrella. We cannot have sides. Because artists have no side. We wanted to talk to the leaders of artists’ association about all the issues of artists. But they are not sitting with us. Are we not artists then? What does it actually cause?’

Due to some artist-leaders of the organization, the artists have come under public question. Claiming this, Nazia Haque Arsha said, ‘After August 5, the path of our country has started anew. We also have to digest all the misdeeds of our senior artistes in the last two months. Now reforms are going on all over the country. We think it is important for our artists first. As an artist, I was not involved in any group work. I will call justice justice and injustice injustice. What kind of artist am I if I can’t say that? But due to some artist-leaders of our organization today we are faced with people’s questions. That’s why we wanted to sit with the leaders of Shilpi Sangh on some issues. But they refuse to sit with us. In the end, I want to say, if you do not sit with us, then you will have to answer for what you have done so far.’
